This is what 45 looks like at Dream Boudoir Photog This is what 45 looks like at Dream Boudoir Photography! Becky's birthday shoot was the last one we had in the studio before the second lockdown. Glad we were able to do it and create this legacy for her to cherish forever! She has been through a lot but this day was all about celebration! What’s your idea of a remembering yourself at your brightest?
With a cancelled destination wedding due to Covid, With a cancelled destination wedding due to Covid, she had to put the celebration of love on hold but instead we took it up in the studio and created a gorgeous bridal Boudoir celebration not just for Shannon but also something she can share with the love of her life! Here’s what she has to say ♥️
“These pictures mean the world to me, I remember “These pictures mean the world to me, I remember when I first walked into the studio I was wondering if I should actually do this. I have always been very self conscious about my body and what it looked like. I have come such a long way in the last two years and I wanted to do something for me and something that would make me feel more impowered. I look at my pictures and I see a very strong, sexy woman that I have become and I am very proud of how far I have come and where I am today. Thank you so much Alishba for making me feel so comfortable and beautiful in my pictures.”

When Jody came to me, she had a simple request: "I When Jody came to me, she had a simple request: "I want to be seen."We talked about what constant pouring out of love and generosity to others feels like. To look in the mirror and wonder, why is it still not enough? To wrap ourselves every night in the nostalgia of who we used to be and wonder if any of it is left — if it is, is there a way to show all of it?Yes, there is a way. This day in Vancouver, she shed all her layers and looked at herself and believed the words: "I AM ENOUGH."And in these photographs, she will forever have a mirror that will remind her that she is enough. How did you feel when you believed those words for the first time?Tell me in DMs x

radical road out of that old kingdom
toward a new unknown. When I came to those great flaming gates

I stood alone in terror at the threshold

my own voice
singing to me from across the forbidden

“I am silver and exact. I have no preconceptions “I am silver and exact. I have no preconceptions.
Whatever you see I swallow immediately
Just as it is, unmisted by love or dislike.I am not cruel, only truthful —The eye of a little god, four-cornered.Most of the time I meditate on the opposite wall.
It is pink, with speckles. I have looked at it so long
I think it is a part of my heart. But it flickers.
Faces and darkness separate us over and over. Now I am a lake. A woman bends over me,
Searching my reaches for what she really is.
Then she turns to those liars, the candles or the moon.
I see her back, and reflect it faithfully. She rewards me with tears and an agitation of hands.
I am important to her. She comes and goes.
Each morning it is her face that replaces the darkness. In me she has drowned a young girl, and in me an old woman
Rises toward her day after day, like a terrible fish.”
~Sylvia Plath
Sometimes guilt is a trauma response. We’re told Sometimes guilt is a trauma response. We’re told and raised with the idea that if we want better things for ourselves, we won’t be able to give xyz to others around us. This is a nonsense idea. Why?Because a heart that doesn’t find generosity for itself is a heart that won’t be able to perform the best for others either.“A healthy self-love means we have no compulsion to justify to ourselves or others why we take vacations, why we sleep late, why we buy new shoes, why we spoil ourselves from time to time. We feel comfortable doing things which add quality and beauty to life." ~AMLet’s make the art you’ve always known you’re worthy of xo
